Notable Alternatives To Shark Apex Uplight Vacuum
« en: 28 de Mayo de 2021, 06:49:05 »
The Shark Apex Uplight is an amazing vacuum cleaner from this American manufacturer.

It works well on many surface types, including furniture, area rugs, carpets, and hard floors. As our Shark Apex Uplight Review has shown, all of its features and cleaning performance, especially the ability to deal with pet hair, make it popular among customers.

The price tag is another highlight of this Shark vacuum. There are few upright models that can go head-to-head against the Apex Uplight at this price point. This makes the task of finding a better alternative very difficult, even though the Shark Uplight Apex does have its own downsides.

Most of the time, you can only jump into slightly more expensive market brackets to find a worthwhile consideration.

For example, Dyson makes similar lightweight vacuum cleaners that produce powerful suction and exceptional cleaning performance on various types of surfaces, like the Dyson A8 Absolute.

That said, they are only suitable for those who're willing to pay a bit more for a vacuum cleaner.

You can also find a similar vacuum from Shark's own catalog. The Apex DuoCLean Zero-M, for example, has a comparable design but lacks many features that make the Shark Apex Uplight vacuum stand out among its competitors.

If you feel interested in these two models, here are two short impressions to help you decide which one is the better alternative to the Shark Apex Uplight Lift-Away DuoClean for you.

1. Dyson V8 Absolute

Dyson has been known for lightweight yet powerful cordless vacuum cleaners that can produce the same level of suction power as their corded counterparts.

The battery life and level of flexibility those vacuums offer also knock similar models out of the park - the main reason customers can justify its higher price tags.

But Dyson also makes multiple vacuums at slightly cheaper price points to attract a wider array of customers.

The Cyclone series is a prime example. While the Dyson V10 Absolute is a flagship model with the longest battery life, strongest suction, and most expensive price, the V6 and V7 are cheaper options with downgraded specifications.

The Dyson V8 Absolute sits in the middle in terms of both pricing and features. It will certainly cost you more than the Shark Apex Uplight DuoClean, but compared to the Shark upright, you can benefit from better hardware.

It works on both hard floors and carpets. When you put the Dyson V8 Absolute on a carpeted surface, it will use the “direct drive” cleaning head to dig into the fibers and pull out dirt, debris, and pet hair. On the other hand, the hard floor mode utilizes a soft nylon carbon fiber head to pick up debris.

Dyson claims that the built-in battery of the V8 Absolute can allow it to run for 40 minutes in the “Powerful” mode, while the motorized cleaner head brings this battery life to 25 minutes.

Our test has confirmed these numbers to some extent, putting them in the middle of the pack. As other reviews have pointed out, the V7 has a battery life of 30 minutes, while the high-end V10 tops out at 60 minutes.

Much like other models in the Cyclone series, the Dyson V8 is a versatile vacuum with multiple possible uses. You can attach the shaft to the machine and use it to reach high areas or hard-to-reach areas like corners. It can also be transformed into a handheld unit as well if you detach the handle.

The V8 features a HEPA filter to root out allergens, and the additional roller cleaner head can help you pick up large debris.

Overall, the Dyson V8 Absolute is a flexible and convenient cordless vacuum that should be on your list. It's more expensive, but the maneuverability and powerful suction can justify the cost.

2. Shark Apex DuoClean Zero-M

The DuoClean is a similar vacuum in the Apex lineup that isn't much more expensive than the Uplight model.

It's hard to find a vacuum that's easier to assemble. After unboxing it, it should take you around two minutes to put everything together. The Apex DuoClean offers three cleaning settings: hard floor, low-pile, and area rugs/thick carpets, which can be switched with the push of a button. If you’re learning How to Clean Tile Floors: The Best Techniques for a Shiny Floor, you might as well buy the Apex DuoClean to get the job done faster.

There are three configurations available: above-floor cleaning, powered lift-away mode, and regular upright position.

When you detach the canister, the cleaning reach of the Apex DuoClean will be extended considerably. This design allows users to vacuum under furniture with ease, especially with the LED lights on the nozzle to illuminate dark areas.

Another standout feature is the Zero-M technology. It can automatically remove pet hair wrapping around the brushroll, which is a huge issue for many vacuums. The self-cleaning ability avoids breakages that could happen if your pet sheds a lot.

You can open the dust cup easier than cheaper Shark vacuums. On those models, you will need to snap in or out latches on the dust cup to remove it. Emptying the Apex DuoClean requires the push of a button.

It's easy to vacuum hard-to-reach areas with the Apex DuoClean, largely thanks to the accessories coming with the vacuum.

The power pet brush does an amazing job of getting rid of pet hair from seat cushions and carpeted stairs. The upholstery tool can remove lint and dirt from delicate items like pillow cushions and lampshades, while the crevice works wonders on tight spots.

You can store all those tools on the Apex DuoClean to save space and avoid accident losses.

For an upright, the Apex DuoClean isn't lightweight at around 16 pounds. But it feels much sturdier than other Shark vacuums we have tested. It's still incredibly maneuverable with the swivel steering, allowing it to glide smoothly around furniture. In the Lift-Away mode and placed on the floor, the canister doesn't wobble.

Final Words

The Dyson V8 Absolute and Shark Apex DuoCLean Zero-M are close alternatives to the Shark Apex Uplight corded Lift-Away. They offer similar designs and features, and while there may be some discrepancies in price, they are still good choices for different cleaning needs.
