Here's Uwe's post from the BGG thread:Hello Toby, Good catch with the dice, I cannot believe that we left the blank die face reference in the rules. This new version of the English and German Fief games has been upgraded and modified in several important ways to streamline and quicken game play. 1. Player's family members cannot be automatically murdered as in the original game. 2. The blank die face was replaced with a 'fff' face. This changed the average hit value from 1.5 to 2. Our play testing often resulted in aberrant die roll results among the players. Also, the addition of the Archers and Saracen fighters made combat with the battle dice average 2 hit value more consistent. 3. Diplomatic card and money trading between players has been limited with the diplomacy tokens. These and other small upgrades have enhanced game play and our average game play time has dropped from the original game's 3-4 hour play length to 1.5 - 2 hours. Sincerely, Uwe
About the dice, same BGG Thread"One more item concerning the blank die face. We based the rules on the original game InDesign file and rewrote based off of the original. We play tested with the 0, f,f,ff,ff,fff for quite a while, but then changed this to f,f,ff,ff,fff, fff here in the USA. Again, to streamline and balance combat. This change was made half way through the development stage last year. The same goes for the murder rules, etc. All rules are correct. Just ignore the zero face reference in section 6.2.2. Notice that we changed all picture references in the rules to show only f, ff, and fff die faces. The same goes for the new Siege Engine rules that were developed in October. Now you no longer purchase Siege Engines, but automatically receive one when you decide to Siege a fortification or fortified city. These new counters also have the f, ff, fff dice pictured.Sincerely, Uwe"
