Cards final count
Michał Oracz - the author, would like to share some information with you, regarding the changes that were made to particular card decks and how it influenced the final card count.

"Even though we’ve changed the amount of cards in particular decks, during tests and development, the overall number of them stays roughly the same. Some new decks were added into the game and others were made slimmer. The amount is directly influenced by the printing signatures (we can either use 200 cards 63x88mm with full bleeds or 210 without bleeds [with white frames].

The Core game in its initial form was to include 204 cards, however we decided to go with 200 cards with full bleeds instead. So the number was slightly decreased.

As to the Stretch Goals there were originally 93 cards planned. We decided to increase it to 100.

The biggest changes are done within particular decks – and these changes are the outcome of our tests. It turned out that in many places “less” means “better”. So the cards that were “freed” made their way into other decks or formed completely new ones, therefore further improving the mechanics. Below you will see a detailed description of what has changed and why it has changed.

Core Game:

12 Character cards – no changes.

7 Arrival cards – the Arrivals deck has been moved into the Visitors deck [thanks to this move we’ve managed to eliminate a whole, unnecessary phase from the game, moreover the Outside action became a whole lot more interesting]. Now there are 5 Arrivals instead of 7, we’ve increased the differences between them and added a Trade possibility to each one [this also allowed us to remove the Traders from the Visitors deck as they were no longer necessary].

20 Locations cards – we removed 2 cards (Brothel and second Reality Impact card).

23 Events cards – because we’ve added winter’s influence on EACH card, we removed the Winter cards from the deck. We left only the cards that make the strongest impact and are most intriguing, the cards that were similar were removed and 3 Chapter cards were added. In its final form the Events deck now consists of 18 cards and it performs far better than it used to.

10 Night Raid cards – their number has not been changed but the deck was improved as a whole.

5 Color cards – no changes.

20 Exploration cards – the number hasn’t changed but the (earlier separate) Map cards were added (improved flow of the game), so finally we’ve landed with 26 Exploration cards. Of course the cards themselves were hugely improved when compared to the prototype.

11 Findings cards – no changes.

23 Fittings cards – currently there are 20 cards in the deck. We threw out any duplicates and one useless Fitting (it was a bit pointless when compared with the others), playing a guitar is no longer an action on a Fitting card, instead it became a skill that some of the Characters possess on their Spirit chart. Quite a few revolutions happened in the Fittings deck when compared to the prototype (the cards are now stronger, more evident in the way they work and they all are finally balanced).

11 Map cards – the Map cards were strongly affected by the changes and became one with the Exploration deck, this has a very positive effect on the easiness, quickness and diversity of the gameplay. Upon entering a Location there is no need to setup its map.

20 Narrative Actions cards – 5 of the weakest cards are out, the final score is 15 strongest and most exciting cards. So now the choice between the 2 available ones in a turn became really tough.

15 Residents cards – we’ve removed 1 card, so the final score is 14.

19 Shelter cards – no changes.

8 Visitors cards – After joining this deck with Arrivals the final score is 12 cards.

What was added:

8 Objective cards – they set a clear, additional (story related) goal for each of the Chapters, this results in a vivid end to each campaign playthrough and allow a summary of our actions.

7 Fate cards – a new mini-deck that allowed us to remove quite a few unnecessary and game-slowing phases from the game. It also translates to less rules to remember (checking the availability of the locations, healing, testing Spirit, influence of winter on illnesses, resolving actions delayed in time and so on).,

5 Blank cards – these are, just like the blank tokens, an essential part of the game. They are strictly connected to some scripts and allow us to introduce entirely new elements into the game.

200 Core Game cards summary: 5 Color cards 18 Event cards 18 Location cards 15 Narrative Action cards 8 Objective cards 12 Visitor cards 12 Character cards 26 Exploration cards 11 Findings cards 20 Fitting cards 7 Fate cards 10 Night Raids cards 14 Resident cards 19 Shelter cards 5 Blank cards

Stretch Goals’ cards:

1 promo card Help the Children – no changes.

1 additional Character card (Emira) – no changes.

10 Script cards – after testing it, this deck was changed into Desperate Measures deck, it consists of 7 cards and it serves a different function now.

15 Tactical cards – 5 cards was added, 20 cards in the deck.

30 Sewers cards – 10 cards are out (initially there were far too many and as the largest deck in the game it was very heavy on the game flow), after many tests we decided to go with 20 cards in this deck.

15 Orphans of War cards – no changes.

8 Farmers cards – 1 card is out, finally 7 cards from this deck mix with other decks.

6 Hidden Objective cards – no changes.

5 Heart of the City cards – no changes.

What was added:

1 Cat card (and token)

1 Dog card (and token)

4 Our City cards

12 Blank cards

The number of cards in almost each deck was altered, in some cases the changes were drastic and in some less so. This as you see this wasn’t done due to cost cuts but to further improve the comfort and flow of the game (if added all together there is far more cards in the game than we initially assumed).

100 Stretch Goals cards: 1 Promo card 7 Desperate Measures cards 7 Farmers cards 6 Hidden Objective cards 5 Heart of the City cards 15 Orphans cards 20 Sewers cards 1 13th Character card 1 Cat card 1 Dog card 4 Our Street cards 20 Tactics cards 12 Blank cards

Expansions’ cards

10 cards in the Memories from the Past expansion – due to the changes in the mechanics of this expansion we added 3 cards, so the final count is 13.

7 cards in the Incidents expansion – 12 cards was added, 19 cards in the deck.

3 Rubble Die cards – to make this aspect of the game more intuitive we exchanged the 3 smaller cards with the description of the rolls into 1 larger chart with all the possibilities listed.

Due to the fact that a lot of time has passed since the prototype was introduced and the campaign ended, we’ve spent many months of hard work and continuous testing and almost every mechanism in the game was changed, tweaked or improved in a way. The decks are now even better thought through and improved, so that their impact on the game is more visible by both in effects on the game and in offering more interesting choice selection.

More than a few of the changes were dictated by the general improvement of the game’s mechanics. With each change we kept in mind that we want you to move through the game with ease, we wanted to save as much of your time as possible – especially by reducing downtime in certain areas of the mechanics. On the other hand we wanted you to have the ultimate experience with each play-through (meaning more choices and options at any moment) without "

A mí me llega mañana  ;D

Pues espero tus impresiones amigo 🙃
