Notes:
• Russian player rolls 10 dice for Mother Russia effects.
• All lakes (or pictured marshes) are "Frozen Lakes."
• Each hex of Eylau is worth 1 Temporary Victory Banner for the Russians if they control it at the start of their turn.
• The five town hexes in the last 4 rows on the Russian side of the board yield 3 Temporary Victory Banners to the French if they have control of the majority of these hexes at the start of their turn. Otherwise, they are worth 2 Temporary Victory Banners for the Russians. The Russian player starts with 2 banners.
• Place French III Corps (Davout plus 5 LN, 2 LT, 1 FA) reinforcement marker on turn 7, Prussian (L'Estocq plus Prussian 2 LN, 1 GR, 1 HC, 1 FA ) reinforcement marker on Turn 17, and French IV Corps (Ney plus 4 LN, 2 LT, 1 LC) reinforcement marker on Turn 20.
Davout and his units may enter play in any hex on the South edge.
L'Estocq and his units may enter play in any hex in the Russian right except Schmoditten.
Ney and his units may enter play in any hex on the North edge except Schmoditten.
Note: No unit may enter a reinforcement hex belonging to the opposing player until that reinforcement group has entered. French units in their right flank may retreat to the South board edge once Davout has entered play. Once Ney has entered, French units in their left flank area may retreat to the North board edge.
• At the start of each Russian turn roll 2 dice until a no event is rolled (which is any situation not listed below, a 2nd weather event, or an already arrived reinforcement):

• Snow Effects: -1 die to all ranged fire and reduce maximum number of formed squares by 2 (Bennigsen: 2; Napoleon: 3)
• Augereau's Misfortune: During any one French combat phase when it is snowing, the Russian player may declare "First Strike" for each melee involving a French infantry unit in the center section.
