Dixon to Carrier: "Scratch One Flattop!" [written by Kevin Fortuna] â€" We had a chance to put this new submission (currently a print-and-play game dubbed "Sink the Carrier!") on the table on the last day of the convention; it was a Dixon to Carrier: "Scratch One Flattop!" playtestperfect "wind down" game that got everyone at the table wound up again! As pictured here (from left to right), Kevin Fortuna, Lance McMillan, Alan Emrich, and Frank Chadwick â€" four serious wargamers indeed! â€" quickly turned into 10-year old kids shouting at the dice while engaged in this 1 to 4 player coop game of WWII carrier warfare.
It's by new designer Esteban Fernandez, and this game is making rapid progress because, frankly, it's way too fast and fun to stop playing! Every player controls a Dauntless Dive Bomber from the Carrier Yorktown trying to find and sink the Scratch One Flattop! Tim Allen graphicsJapanese escort Carrier Shoho before she sinks your carrier. These players are not only fighting the Japanese, but also the clock (literally!) as real-time pressure ratchets up the dramatic tension of gameplay. Dice are flying everywhere like so many Kate bombers waiting to deliver their payload of bad luck (i.e., rolling 1s) as the players work with hasty coordination to find and attack the Japanese Carrier, all while trying to protect the Yorktown from seemingly endless waves of torpedo bombers! This is a wild and fun, simple little wargame playable in an adrenaline packed half hour.

Enhorabuena!!!

In Development
The game development burners are full of exciting game projects. Here is a partial list in completely random order of what we've been working on lately (watch for more news about individual game projects in future updates):
Sink the Carrier! â€" This 1 to 4 player coop game features a duel between the Shoho and the Yorktown at the Battle of Coral Sea. The players pilot an individual Dauntless fighter-bomber in an effort to scout out the enemy carrier, clear the skies of Japanese fighters, and then load up with the bombs necessary to sink the Shoho, all while keeping the Japanese from doing the same to the Yorktown. This game has the uncanny ability to turn grown-ups into loud youngsters as timed, dice-fest action resolves each turn.
