Hizo Dominion, su primer juego... ahora por fin hace un segundo independiente del primero...aunque por fuera el tema sea parecido.

Hype a la vista!

Para lo poco que se sabe, es como si dijésemos que no sabemos nada.

Os habeis fijado que el mapa ya viene preparado por los bordes para futuras expansiones..?.
O solo soy yo y mi paranoia con el Dominion?

tiene toda la pinta, si ... que viene preparado para expansiones..

.. de todos modos a mi, sin saber nada más que la fotillo... me ha gustado lo suficiente como para estar pendiente...

No es que venga preparado para futuras expansiones, es que es un tablero modulable 
Lo que no quita que no haya futuras expansiones...

Explicación del juego por parte del diseñador:

CitarI will post a full Secret History near the release date. For now here's a brief explanation of the game, not so much adding to the game entry's one as clarifying it, and a brief bit about the game's origin.

Kingdom Builder is a game of putting pieces on a board. It's an engine-building game; that engine is pieces on a board. Your pieces do three things for you at once: they score for you; they gain you abilities; and they limit where you (and other players) can go in the future. That last part is because, when you play on say grass, if you aren't next to grass, you can take any grass on the board; if you are next to grass, you have to take that grass. So you want to develop in a way that keeps your options open, or at least gives you good options.

There are ten ways to score and you use three each game, so your objectives vary from game to game. The set of possible abilities also varies, with the board quadrants (they are printed on the boards). It's easy to learn; on your turn you put three pieces on the terrain you drew and use your abilities and that's it. You gain abilities by playing next to certain hexes. The game is low on politics, although one of the scoring methods is area control. In general you get chances to screw other players over, but not chances to pick who to screw over. You can take hexes that were better for another player, or good for both of you, and you can block other players, but you can't remove their pieces from the board.

When I made the game it was originally going to be a deckbuilding game. I took the deckbuilding part out; I thought the game was better without it, and I of all people did not need to have deckbuilding for the sake of having deckbuilding. I called the game Kingdom Builder because Dominion was called Castle Builder. I expected it to get renamed, but I guess Queen liked the name!

When Jay took Dominion in 2007, he also took a monster-themed children's game. I was pleased that my second published game would be so drastically different from my first. As it happens it has yet to come out, although I hope to see it in October. Anyway I do not have a big pile of medieval kingdom-building games lying around. The other new game I hope will come out in October is mad scientist themed, and the most common theme among my prototypes is 20s gangsters. Now you know.

¿Sólo a mi me parece muy feo el tablero...? A la estetica de un wargame barato... 

Las cartas si molan.

Estéticamente no me gusta, el tema medieval me tiene más que aburrido. Por el momento, así de primeras, afortunadamente no está en mi watchlist.

A mí también me parece feo de narices

Aún así, se huele el hype antes siquiera de entrar a leer el hilo

Sí, si por fuera se olerá, pero si lo abres lo que hay es ANTI-hype. Quitando un par de comentarios, el resto son negativos.

Pues salvando la portada del juego, el resto a mi también me parece horrible, incluso las cartas no parecen muy elaboradas. Seguramente luego será el mejor juego del mundo (o no) pero feo es...

Pues a mi si que me da hype positivo... por lo visto y leído me tiene a la espera!
Aunque seguro que no será así espero q sea un nuevo Dominion, no es el mejor juego del mundo pero a mis amigos y amigas no jugones les encanta, y eso siempre es un plus!

Otro para la lista de Essen. Veremos si aguanta la criba.
