Like, the first edition expansion, the second edition expansion (aka High Frontier Colonization, available on pre-order until the end of this month) will come with a mounted map extension. This extension, which fits to the left of the base map, includes not just Jupiter and Saturn, but out to Pluto, the TNOs, and beyond. There are new hazards based on updated information; the most important is the double-hazard Rhea Debris Ring (important because it makes it harder to achieve the Space Tourism space venture, which otherwise is too easy and powerful). Other recently discovered hazards: the mysterious moon Methone discovered by my friend Carolyn Porco, whose egg-smooth surface might be explained as ices clustered around a CUDOS, the P4 and the P5 arcs around Pluto, penitentes in the conamara chaos, the pallene ring, electric geysers on Enceladus, the Kozai Resonance of Sao. (After agonizing for a while, did not expand Pluto to a two-site world with an underground lake.) There are also two Easter Eggs, although you may need an eye loop to distinguish them. Colonization also includes a separate page of charts which update the Event Table, Exploitation, Politics, and the Sunspot Cycle. So the 2nd edition base map and the new Colonization map extension together are perfectly adequate to play legacy High Frontier, either first or second edition, although many of the new sites would take a rather a long time to reach using the legacy megawatt class rockets. The sunlens EM point is 550 AU (18X as far from the sun as Neptune) and the sunlens neutrino point is between Uranus and Neptune, as examples of places you will likely need the gigawatt class rockets included in Colonization to reach. The Colonization extended map will fit with either the 1st or 2nd edition basic map. However it is trimmed to fit the second edition map, and, due to a most unfortunate artifact of trimming, fits only roughly with the first edition Basic Map.The Colonization Poster-Map (sold on Zazzle) is quite similar to the mounted map found in High Frontier and High Frontier Colonization together. But because the Poster-Map is roomier, it is able to include more sites (e.g. the Plutino Huya, the Blue Centaur Chiron, the Centaur Elalus). Furthermore, the Poster-Map includes improvements and updates in the Basic Map, notably a more realistic fly-by geometry for Earth and Mars, indicators for the five orbiting Bernal Sphere Space Colonies used in Colonization, a new aerobrake path to reach the Martian North Pole, the latest photo of Vesta, and more. I hope this clears up the confusion.I should mention the High Frontier Interstellar Poster-Map, which is available only on Zazzle and not included in Colonization. This solitaire game requires High Frontier Colonization to play. The map includes most of the stars within a dozen light years.
