Differences: Almost all of the artwork has changed. But it's similar enough. Mainly minor things.
Gameplay: There are some differences in the gameplay. Kansas City coin/points value is different. Taking care of hazards (bandits) gives you positive points. And some of the tiles have changed, slightly. I wouldn't say they are really game changing, but they do tweak it a bit.
Solo Mode: It has a solo mode that is based on the one on BGG. They called it "Lonely are the Brave".
Expansion "Simmentals": These add a small market piece and cows that you "upgrade" every time you deliver.
Expansion "Exchange Tokens": These were originally part of Rails to the North, but are now in the base game. You can use these to help your draw, I think.
Upgraded components "Naked Cowboys": The herders now have different wood stains with different colored hats you can mix and match.
Upgraded components "Player Boards": The player boards are now dual layered for all key areas. HOWEVER, if you are playing less than 4 players, there is a little piece you have to stack on top of the player boards, they control two upgrades (movement) and player taxes, that is NOT dual layered. So for 1, 2, 3 player counts it'll all be double layered, except for those pieces. I expect an aftermarket solution later.
Upgraded components "Bags": There are now 3 bags marked "1", "2", and "3" for the various tokens at Kansas City.
