Aquí teneis la respuesta de James ( Cheapass games ) ... tenemos vía libre para transcribir lo que queramos ( sin quitarle los derechos a Cheapass games ) ...
Thanks for your note.
Luckily, none of the text on the Witch Trial cards is necessary to play the game. I'll do my best to translate / explain it for you.
In many cases, the phrasing is almost confusing on purpose, and is meant to sound like something from 200 years ago. You might be better off making up your own funny text, rather than trying to closely follow mine.

Hello:
I'm used to play with my 10 and 11 years old nephews. Their english level are very low ( like me ) and I want to play Witch trial game with them.
I'm trying to translate the text detail in the cards and I've found some troubles to understand some sentences/words.
Could it be possible that you explain me the following card's meaning to find some similar sentence/word in Spanish ?
If you agree, you could use the translation to make spanish-talker people enjoys the game.
I need some help translating this cards:
- Almost certainly not involved with recent rash of boils. ( Rash of boils ? )
A "rash" in this context is like an "outbreak" or an "epidemic." "boils" are nasty sores.
- Holds Society’s dearest principles in low regard. ( don't understand the meaning )
To "hold something in low regard" means to have no respect for it. So, this character has no respect for the principles of society.
- Suspected of wandering eyes and failure to shun the weak. ( don't understand the meaning )
These are two phrases I made up. "Wandering eyes" suggests looking in places where you shouldn't, or stating at people whom you shouldn't stare at. "shunning the weak" is just a term for avoiding and being cruel to weak people. The phrase "failure to shun the weak" suggests that there is some kind of unspoken law among the citizens that they should all shun the weak, so it's bad to "fail" to do so.
- Has already survived being pressed to death with stones. ( kill thowing stones ? )
In Salem, it was common to execute suspected witches by pressing them to death with stones. The victim would be pressed between two boards, and rocks would be piled on top until she died. This is quite horrible. This character has apparently lived through this treatment, which does suggest that she has supernatural powers...
- Double-Uppery ( can't find the meaning )
I made it up. It's a funny word for "two-timing" or "conspiracy" or maybe "gambling," but it has no English meaning. Unfortunately, I have no idea how you would translate it.
- The Ol’ Hokus-Pokus ( magical words )
This is another made-up phrase, but "Hocus Pocus" is just a term for doing magic. "The ol'" is just a funny English way of saying that something is familiar.
- Turned Lester into Newt ( Monty pyton tribute ?)
Yes, it's a Monty Python reference. Because of the phrasing, it might also be read as "turned one person into another person" because Newt is also a man's name.
- Quick Sketch Artist ( Person who paint people on a trail ?)
Correct. A "quick sketch artist" is either an artist in a courtroom, or an artist who can draw quickly, usually someone who will draw a sketch of a criminal from the description of witnesses.
Otherwise, some people in a Spanish forum is trying to help me ... Are there any problem sharing the translation with them ?
You can see the thread ( in Spanish ) following this link:

Thanks. I don't speak very much Spanish. Please feel free to share the translation as long as it is properly attributed (make sure all the credits for Cheapass Games remain intact). I'll be very interested to see how it turns out.
As I mentioned before, you may be better off creating your own funny content, rather than translating mine. The important thing is that the tone of the text suggests foolish, stuffy, terrible old people. I don't know how that kind of irony translates into Spanish but it should be clear that the lawyers are the villains in this world. I don't want players thinking that we actually want to persecute vegetarians.
Thanks and best wishes,
